2008 NBUA Training & Real World Game Management

Your input and experiences are needed!

Game Management. This term is thrown around regularly at all levels of training, yet often the discussion morphs into 3 rd world and impractical situations. However, whatever this concept means, and whatever it is to improve your ability here; accomplishing this significantly improves the quality of your game, especially at higher tiers. And improving your game management is a major factor in moving from a lower tier to a higher tier in NBUA.

To improve our classroom discussions regarding game management we are going to concentrate on real game situation that have actually happened, and "could have" happened.   We need your help.

All umpires. Think back on your past couple seasons. Remember the cluster boinks you had, saw, caused, or were party too?   Type them up and send them in!  What was the situation, what play occurred, what call was the catalyst, what actions were taken, how did the situation break down, or how did you professionally (or sophomorically) manage the situation?

Please note! This is not an attempt to catch anyone or embarrass anyone. All submissions are going only to me and will be treated confidentially. The training staff wants to present real situations for analysis and discussion and the situations have already happened. I will screen and review all the submissions. All references to NAMES will be removed, nobody will be identified.   You may recognize your situation in a class discussion and are free to add to the discussion if you wish.

PLEASE submit your tales to ME mbran2000@yahoo.com. PLEASE be sure to indicate the level of game and your tier level from last season.   Also, feel free to indicate the questions you have about the situation, what should I have done differently, etc?

Thanks in advance, and thanks for helping.
