Development Format & Criteria

Preparation, Appearance, Partnership, Attitude |
Established appropriate contact with partner prior to time of assignment. Arrived timely. Prepared to work any position. Proper and well maintained uniform and equipment. Contributed positively to PreGame. Positive attitude toward assignment. Eager to learn and improve. Willing to accept constructive criticism. Does not fraternize. Assumes the leadership role. Takes control of the Field and Participants. Knows pregame procedures. Aware of field and weather conditions. Professional and efficient plate meeting. Communicates with participants and partner consistently and effectively. |
Plate Mechanics, Timing, Zone Consistency |
Head Height. Stance. Distance. Slot positioning. Posture. Adjusting for catcher/batter. Solidity through pitch. Effective, consistent use of eyes and ears. Consistency in timing. Does not drift on pitch. Does not flinch on swings. Feet remain stable. Proper spacing. Vacalizations. Movement before, during and after call. Top of zone. Bottom of zone. Width of zone. Location of zone. Appropriatness of zone. |
Decisiviness, Confidence, Demeanor |
Remains in control and unflustered by situations and conflicts. Appears prepared for and appropriately responds to situations. Decisive and assertive in decisions. Prepared to respond appropriately to reactions. Confident in application of rules. |
Fundamentals, Mechanics, Hustle, Presence |
Aware of rotations and responsibilities. Obtains good positions for all calls. Set and prepared as play develops. Able to anticipate changes in play situations and make appropriate adjustments. Moves efficiently and effectively. Able to obtain best possible vantage for play. Abel to match the speed of play throughout the game. Knows where to be at all times. |
Game Management, Focus and Awareness, Professionalism, Judgment, Pace of Game |
Remains involved consistently throughout the assignement. Knows and is prepared to execute all responsibilities at all times. Aware of situations and circumstances on the field and with the participants. Remains in control and unbiased. Good, solid, dependable decisions. Focused on moving game forward. Effective and professional resolutions to disruptions. |
OVERALL PERFORMANCE
Each criteria MUST be graded on the standard scale of 1 to 10.
An Overall Member performance grade MUST be posted in SUMMARY COMMENT section at bottom of Evaluation form.
Evauations should NEVER contain comments or opinions regarding the Tier Placement of the member.
Evauations should NEVER contain comments or opinions regarding the weather or quality of play.
10 = CC Performance consistent with CC Tier expectations.
9 = A+ Performance above A Tier expectations.
8 = A Perfomance consistent with A Tier expectations.
7 = A- Performance above B Tier expecations but not consistent with A Tier expectations.
6 = B+ Perfomance above B Tier expectations.
5 = B Performance consistent with B Tier expecations.
4 = B- Performance above C Tier expectations but not consistent with B Tier expectations.
3 = C+ Performance above C Tier expectations.
2 = C Performance consistent with C Tier expectations.
1 = C- Performance below minimum C Tier expectations.

Field Mechanics, Timing, Consistency |
Posture. Reactions. Start positions. Position at time of play. Angle. Distance. Ability to adjust for situations. Effective, consistent use of eyes and ears. Consistency of call timing. Vocalizations. Movement before, during and after calls. |
Decisiviness, Confidence, Demeanor |
Remains unflustered by situations and conflicts. Appears prepared for and appropriately responds to situations. Confidence in application of rules. Assertive in awards and enforcement of rules. Prepared and responds positively to plays and events. Decisive and assertive in calls. Prepared to respond appropriately to reactions. |
Fundamentals, Mechanics, Hustle, Presence |
Aware of rotations and responsibilities. Obtains good positions for all calls. Set and prepared as play develops. Able to anticipate changes in play situations and make appropriate adjustments. Move efficiently, effectively and appropriately. Able to obtain best possible vantage for play call. Able to maintain all rotations and positioning commensurate to the speed of play of all of the participants throughout the assignment. Moves to next position immediately after play is complete. |

Remains in control, unbiased throughout the assignment. Remains involved consistently throughout the assignment. Knows and is prepared to execute all responsibilities at all times. Aware of situations and circumstances on the field and with the participants. Knows how to control situations. Not eager to eject but does when necessary. Good, solid, dependable, unbiased and appropriate decisions. Focused on moving game forward. Awareness of game status and live/dead ball status. Effective and professional resolutions to game disruptions. Maintains courteous and authoritative manner. |
