My record speaks for itself. For those of you who have worked with me out on the diamond since 1993, you know that I am very passionate about my umpiring and umpiring in a professional manner no matter what level is being played. I enjoy giving and receiving feedback and am always honest in the feedback that I give to my partners. Since first being elected to the Board, I have served on every committee and currently serve on the Banquet Committee, Evaluations Committee, and Training Committee (Director of Training). That has given me a broad range of experience in dealing with every aspect of our Association.
NBUA requires board members who bring stability as well as a historical perspective and is committed to the interests of not only the NBUA but the individual umpire as well.
It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as one of your Board members since 1999. It is in the board room that the most crucial decisions of this Association must be made over the next two years. We faced some very real and critical issues these past two years and your Board of Directors did a magnificent job in steering the Association through some difficult decisions. The most notable of course was the change in the assigning program from Game Assign to Arbiter. While there are still some growing pains with this system, we are working through them and the seasons to come should be much smoother.
In the past 18 years, I have attained a level of umpiring that I never in my wildest dreams did I think I would reach when I joined in 1993.EVERYONE has the potential to live their dream and I look at my position as a Board member as responsibility to assist others in achieving their dream. Being a member of your Board of Directors has been an experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world! Make no mistake about it there have been untold sacrifices along the way. One of the sacrifices that I’m more than willing to make is the sacrifice of time that is required to serve on the Board of Directors.
From the experiences that I have had, the knowledge and counsel that has been, and continues to be passed on to me by my partners, and sacrifices that I have endured, has come an image of serving the NBUA as fulfilling a noble and historic role. I take my role of a Board member very seriously and would love to continue in that role.
I have ALWAYS been available for a conversation with any member about ANYTHING relating to NBUA and to those of you that have taken the opportunity over the years to have the trust in me to call or E-mail me with your questions, concerns, or suggestions. . . I hope that you have enough trust in me to continue to serve as one of your board members.
