John Philbeck
I believe all Members should honor and respect their partner, the Association, the teams and the game.
Baseball is one of the highest, purest forms of human endeavor. It is, and forever should be, played by humans, enjoyed by humans and officiated by humans. It is one of our greatest displays of our incredible skills and abilities as well as our faults and inadequacies. Not only does the game emphasis this, it celebrates every aspect of our human essence.
I have been involved in baseball since my Little League days in 1960. I have played every position on the field and most loved wearing the tools of ignorance as a catcher.
In 1996 I was finally lured to the dark side and have been involved and supported our Association constantly and completely. In return I have been given wisdom, confidence, grace, skills and insights about myself and human nature beyond anything I would have ever conceived. Plus, through the Association I have met and enjoy literally hundreds of my dearest and most cherished friendships. Such a diverse group of people with such an incredible common bond, passion and dedication. Thank you, every one of you!
Some of my activities have included;
- Assisted on the Administrative Committee
- Drafted the original Member Services Agreement
- Revised and updated the By-Laws
- Revised, updated and consolidated the Policies and Procedures
- Assisted in the 2008 Election process
- Assisted with the 2008 Association Budget
- Directed the 2009 Evaluations Program
- Directed the transition to GameAssign for the Evaluation Program
- Attempted to Refocus the Evaluation Program from Tier Placement to an extension
of training and partner support
- Enabled over 5,000 Partner Support entries for 2009 Members
- Enabled over 150 Evaluation Staff Observations for 2009 Members
- Always been open and available to offer support and receive constructive feedback
from everybody regardless of their tier status
- Always tried to open my schedule and work games with newer members
- LISTENED!
If reelected to the Board I will continue to serve this Association with all of my abilities. If I am not reelected to the Board I will continue to serve this Association with all of my abilities. Thank you for the opportunity to know each of you and the opportunity to serve our Association.
