Gary Coy

It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as one of your Board members. Through the leadership of the Board can come a more vital umpiring life for our members. In it are centered the hopes of the members for continued success and a more secure umpiring future.  It is in the board room that the most crucial decisions of this Association must be made over the next two years.  There are some very real and critical issues facing the Board during the rest of this year and in 2010 and it is on the basis of these issues that the membership must make their fateful choice of who will represent their future.

In the past 15 years, I have attained a level of umpiring that I never in my wildest dreams did I think I would reach when I joined in 1994. I have umpired EVERY level of baseball that we serve and in the last five years even some higher levels of ball that we don't serve.  It has been an "E ticket" ride! It has been an experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world! There have been MANY sacrifices along the way. One of the sacrifices that I’m more than willing to make is the sacrifice of time that is required to serve on the Board of Directors.

From these experiences and sacrifices has come an image of serving the NBUA as fulfilling a noble and historic role. I take my role of a Board member very seriously and would love to continue in that role. My view of the current NBUA Board Members is one of a group umpires that are dedicated, confident, courageous and persevering. It would be my humble honor and privilege to serve another term with them on your Board of Directors.
