Jay Neff
I have spent the last year working hard on the Board for you. It has been an invigorating experience and quite a learning one as well. When I first came to the board I had a lot of questions and not many answers. I sat back and listened and started to get involved. It became apparent shortly after I arrived that I needed to get involved in a committee so I created a "Liaison" committee. This was an important issue to the NBUA as it constituted a tremendous form of communication between the NBUA and our customers. I am proud to report that it was indeed a successful project as it opened doors to all the different levels of ball that we officiate over. When there was a problem or concern the contacts were made and in most cases the situations were resolved or corrected.
I was involved in the instituting of the new assigning system, the one which we use now. While this was very new to everyone, the board included, we knew we had to move in this direction and I think we made the right choice. Technology is sometimes hard to swallow but I think the members of the NBUA embraced it, accepted it, and quickly caught on to a system that not only made our assignors job easier but simplified our lives as well. I was also involved in the instituting of our new peer evaluation system that I think actually got a little bit easier to understand and use. While there are many things that are left to be done within the peer evaluation system, it was definitely a step in the right direction. These are just a few of the things that I was involved with. I was honored to serve as your representative and took very seriously the job that I performed. I want to continue my work on the board and I ask for your support when you vote in this election. Once again thank you all and I look forward to working for you again. Sincerely
Jay Neff
