Five elected in BOD barnburner

The 2006 NBUA Board of Directors election taking place last night had a bit of everything. Three incumbents were returned, one former director was brought back and one first time candidate was elected. Oh, and there was the first ever tie between the fifth and sixth place that caused the Board to reconvene to vote on the winner.

Rich Johnson was the leading vote getter with 84, followed by Brian Gooch with 75, first-time director Marc Forsythe with 74, Vern Dahl with 66 and Gavin Anderson with 63.

Of the 121 ballots cast, 98% were cast online. Three votes were cast in person and none were cast by absentee. Total ballots dropped this year from an all time high of 158 in 2005.

In the organizational meeting following the election, Rich Johnson was elected President; Brian Gooch, Vice President; Scott Johnson, Treasurer and Gary Coy, Secretary.

Committee chair appointments will be made at the planning session scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 8.
