Umpire's Son-in-law dies in Iraq
All members, please join the NBUA in expressing our sympathy and condolences to the Brant Culley family. Brant's son-in-law, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Michael Burbank was killed in action just south of Mosul, Iraq Monday morning.
Michael was sitting in the "tank-commander hatch" in the Stryker vehicle he was in charge of on their way back to their base after a morning patrol when a truck loaded with explosives and boxes of vegetables to conceal the bomb drove between the lead Stryker vehicle and Michael and was detonated.
He was a member of the 1st Squadron, 14th Calvary Regiment at Fort Lewis. Brant said this evening that he lost a great friend and a great son and that he was a great leader.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Brant Culley family.
