Neff joins board, Forsythe, Johnson, Gooch & Dahl return for 2-year terms

The Northwest Baseball Umpires Association held its annual meeting on October 6 at the WIAA Renton headquarters where the results of the Board elections were announced. All six of the 2008 Board candidates were in attendance along with seven interested members.

Elected to 2-year terms were Marc Forsythe, Brian Gooch, Rich Johnson, Vern Dahl and Jay Neff. Chris Claflin finished just behind these five in the tally.

Following the adjournment of the Annual Meeting the Election Committee convened, certified and announced the results of the elections. There were 102 votes cast electronically and one ballot cast in person. Every announced candidate received votes from more than 62% from the voting members confirming that all six candidates were well qualified and respected by the membership.

The 2008-09 NBUA Executive Committee includes Rich Johnson, president; Mike Brancheau, vice president; Kris Carlstedt, treasurer and Gary Coy, secretary.

Committee Chairman for the next year are: Kris Carlstedt, finance; Mike Brancheau, training; John Philbeck, evaluations; Gary Coy, bylaws / policies & procedures; Marc Forsythe, recruiting and retention; and Jay Neff, member services / communication.

Brian Gooch and Vern Dahl are at-large directors.

The Elections Committee would like to thank and congratulate all six of the candidates for their involvement in the association. The committee also thanks every member that voted in the election. Your interest and participation is vital to support of the continuing success of the Northwest Baseball Umpires Association.
