Board approves changes to bylaws

At the monthly Board of Directors meeting on September 12, the Board unanimously approved the changes to the bylaws of the NBUA as recommended by the Bylaw Committee. The changes are effective immediately.

Changes to ARTICLE 2.2 changes when the Annual Business Meeting is held from the first week of March to a more flexible February or March.

In ARTICLE 2.4 the word "written" in the first sentence is deleted and the word "date" is added to the last sentence.

In ARTICLE 3.5 the word "written" in the third sentence is deleted and the word "delivered" is added to the same sentence.

In ARTICLE 4.2 the words "selecting candidates" are deleted.

In ARTICLE 4.7 the title is changed to add the word "Retention". In the second sentence the words "rookie and experienced umpires" are deleted and replaced with the words "of new members and the retention of existing members".

In ARTICLE 8.3 the last sentence now reads 2% and 1% instead of 1% and 2%.

In ARTICLE 8.9 the words "After June 1st" and "50%" are deleted and the words "Request" and "80%" are added.

In ARTICLE IX a new section is added. Section 9.7

We anticipate there will be more changes in the months to come.
