So Long, Cowboy...

Eric Edlund

It is with great sadness that we pass on to you all the news that Eric Edlund, NBUA member since 1988, passed away early Monday morning with his family by his side. Below is a note from his family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

So Long, Cowboy...

Dear Family & Friends

After a four-year battle with renal-cell cancer, Eric – my Dad – passed away this morning (Monday July 11) at 4:12 AM.  He slipped away peacefully. Mom, Arne and I were by his side.

Although we miss him terribly, we’re relieved that Dad’s no longer in pain and no longer has to fight against his cancer every day.

Dad’s life was an adventure, and included stops in Grays Harbor, Pullman, California, Virginia, and Redmond (and more). Along the way, he was a Hoquiam Grizzly a WSU Coug, a sailor, an umpire, a coach, a restaurateur, a friend, a loving husband and father.

Since he was a navy man, Dad’s wish was to be cremated and his ashes scattered upon the sea.  We’ll have a memorial service to celebrate his life but don’t have a date or place in mind yet.  We’ll keep you posted.

Thank you for your comments, hopes, thoughts and prayers.  They’ve been a source of comfort and strength for our entire family… especially for Dad.

Much love,
Ande, Arne & Ann Edlund
