| Monday, April 24, 2006 Reams Goodloe appointed Member Liaison By Vern Dahl The NBUA board of directors is happy to announce the appointment of Reams Goodloe to the newly created position of Member Liaison. Reams will begin his duties immediately. Professionally Reams is a patent attorney. In that capacity he is charged on a daily basis to deal professionally with highly sensitive and confidential matters. Additionally, as a patent attorney, he often has to sit with engineers and inventors, listen to their "ideas" then reduce those ideas to a patent application that is accurate and will stand the test of the US patent office.
"The selection of Reams will add an exciting new dimension to NBUA as we continue to grow and strive to better serve our customers and our members," said Rich Johnson, NBUA President. Rich went on to thank all of the outstanding candidates who indicated their interest in this position and hope those not selected will be able to help the organization in other ways. Since this is a new position within NBUA, clear parameters and responsibilities have not yet been established but will develop over time. As this position develops, it is the hope of the board that the Member Liaison will serve as a central point of contact for NBUA members allowing them to bring their suggestions, concerns and criticisms forward in a constructive way. From Reams: I appreciate the opportunity provided by the board of directors to serve the membership of NBUA in the new role of Member Liaison. I look forward to working with the membership in helping to facilitate communication with the board and to bring the concerns and suggestions of the members to the attention of the board for resolution and/or further action as appropriate. Each member should feel free to contact me on matters which they feel are of importance to some or all of the members, and especially with respect to those matters which would benefit from the assistance that I may be able to bring in "packaging the information" and helping to convey your concerns to the board. In my new role, I will work to be useful to the members as a pathway of bringing matters to the attention of the board, and then following up with members by phone or in person as necessary to further address and/or resolve the matter. The board has authorized me to handle input from members on a confidential basis when so requested by the member(s) that bring matters to my attention, and thus when so requested, regardless of the source, I will disclose the identity of the source of the request only with prior consent of the member(s) who initially requested confidentiality. Hopefully, most matters won't require that, but as your Member Liaison, I will handle such matters accordingly, if necessary. More generally, I hope that you will bring forward your suggestions, from the member's perspective, for improving the relationship between the association and its customers, as well as for helping to further strengthen the value of the association to its members. I can be reached by email at: reams.goodloe@earthlink.net or goodpatent@aol.com . Cell phone 253-709-5097, and work (often good evenings) at 253-859-9128. When possible, send an email first and indicate a good time to call. |
