Peer Eval site new and improved

By Tim Stevens
Evaluation Staff

The NBUA online evaluation system has been revised with a slightly new look and feel.   The process is fairly similar to in the past, except that now umpires are required to make comments whenever a tier grade is one or more full tier levels above or below the umpire's current level. The "smart" peer score input activates a new feature every time a selection is made, and makes determinations based upon selections.

The process of being able to review, edit and view peer evaluations is a lot easier and efficient. Before, umpires had one opportunity to review their entries before submitting and, once submitted, the entries were permanent.   Since entries are not updated until the 15th and end of each month and entry for games within that time frame will be "open" until the end of the time frame. For example, a peer evaluation submitted for a game played April 18 will be able to be view and edited up through April 30. On the 30th the evaluation is posted to the website and becomes closed. Please note that only rating scores and comments will be able to be edited.

As promised, umpires will now be able to request formal evaluations through the evaluation site. Umpires simply enter their schedule, press a button and a request is immediately fired out to all evaluators notifying them that a request for an evaluation has been submitted.

Although the site has been tested thoroughly there is always the possibility that a bug or two may still be in place. If you encounter a problem using the site contact me at tstevens@wiaa.com or 425-282-5236.
