Oliver earns job out of PBUC

Danny Oliver, NBUA 2004 Rookie of the Year, has been offered a job in professional baseball.

After attending the Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpires this winter, Oliver was named to PBUC – Professional Baseball Umpires Corp – which is responsible for the training, evaluation, and recommendation for promotion, retention, or release of all umpires in the Minor League Baseball system throughout the United States and Canada. Forty-nine umpires attended PBUC and Oliver was one of 22 to receive job offers. Of the 22, 14 were graduates of JEAPU and 8 had attended the Harry Wendelstedt School for Umpires.

According to a source, Oliver has been tenedered an offer for pro ball and will either be working the Arizona League or Northwest league this summer.
