Mike Brancheau, an 8-year member of the NBUA, was chosen last night to fill the Board of Directors seat vacated by the resignation of Ken Sack. Brancheau will finish the remaining seven months Sack's term and will be up for election this fall.
"I pledge to you that I will always consider the long term interest of the association as a whole, every act I make will be founded within this axiom," Brancheau said in his statement to the Board. "It is clear that the new board member must primarily be able to learn the processes that have been successfully put in place, take on some tasks, and work them to successful conclusion. I look forward to contributing to those successes."
Brancheau is currently the facilitator of the mentor program, creator of the NBUA listserv, and has been a contributing editor and rules columnist in The Indicator. He was also presented the NBUA Distinguished Service Award earlier this month at the NBUA business meeting.
Also interviewing for the open position were Mike Carter, Vern Dahl, Bill Fitzgerald and former Board member Jay Neff. All have been invited to join the Board's Long Range/Strategic Planning Committee.
