Natali is Eshelman Award Winner, Claflin ROY An exciting NBUA Business Meeting was capped off Saturday with the naming of Dave Natali the 2006 Eshelman Award winner (previously NBUA Umpire of the Year). Chris Claflin was named Rookie of the Year, while Erik Nilson and Mike Muchlinski received Distinguished Service Awards. For the first time, Leslie Fitzpatrick gave out Assignor Awards; they went to Marc Forsythe, Bill Lewis and Dean Shull. See Hall of Fame for complete history of winners. The annual Eshelman Scholarship award went to Brian Hertzog, Kerry White and Bobby Leon, who all attended five week school. Two motions from the floor were also presented. The first, to publicize all vote totals in upcoming elections, failed. A resolution supporting minor league umpires in the ongoing labor negotiations passed. |
