NBUA umpire Danny Oliver, who just completed the five-week Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpires, has been selected to attend the Professional Baseball Umpires Corp (PBUC). PBUC is responsible for the training, evaluation, and recommendation for promotion, retention, or release of all umpires in the Minor League Baseball system throughout the United States and Canada.

Oliver, entering his second year of umpiring, was one of 25 to be named to PBUC out of 110 students attending the Academy. He will leave for PBUC in mid-March in hopes of getting a minor league job.
"Going to PBUC is something to be proud of, and I am," Oliver said. "However, I have done nothing at this point. If I come home with a job, then that could be the start of something."
