NBUA General Meeting Wrapup

The NBUA General Meeting was held at Mercer Island Community Center on January 24 and was attended by approximately 100 members.
In his opening remarks, President Rich Johnson welcomed all in attendance, especially the new members. He recognized those with at least ten years membership, fifteen years, and then those with twenty plus years with NBUA.
1. "State of the Association"
- We have a strong, vibrant, and financially strong Association
- We have a strong and growing customer base
- We have $600,000+ in annual revenue for the first time.
- Recognized a couple of strong professionals that do work for us such as our assignor and our accountant
- We have an outstanding training staff and our ability to put quality umpires on the field is superb
2. Issues facing the Association
- WOA/Arbiter "mandate"
- Decision pending and potential consequences of the decision yet to be made.
- Employment Security Department (ESD) audits of several associations throughout the state
- Potential threat of encroachment by other association on our customer base.
- League vs. Independent customer conflicts as it relates to billing.
3. Committee Reports
The meeting concluded after a question and answer session.\
