2004 Assigning System

By Leslie Fitzpatrick
NBUA Assignor

Welcome to the 2004 Baseball Season! New things are in store for this year. First and foremost, I’ve asked Jack Miller to help me with the assigning this year. Jack will work behind the scenes working on pre-assignments. He will have nothing to do with phones, cancellations, complaints, etc., so please direct all concerns to me. I am very excited about this. With Jack’s expertise, I believe that this upcoming season will be a complete success.

Our new web based assigning program is almost complete. Some features are ready to go, and I will keep everyone updated as the site progresses. I plan to have this fully functional before the season begins. Please log in and browse around. Update your current address information and please make sure it is accurate. Create your own password. Enter your availability. (Editor's Note: You will be contacted once the assigning site is up and running. It will be accessible from the "Account" button on the main NBUA web page.)

If you are not able to provide advance availability, I will work with you over the phone. My office phone hours will be from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. If you have a game day emergency and cannot reach me at my phone, page me at 206-314-5043. My email availability will be 24/7. All emails and phone calls will be responded to within 24 hours. However, if it’s raining, please be patient with me. If you get my voice mail, I am most likely on the other line. Phone messages looking for open games might not be returned if there are no open games. ALL emails will be responded to. I encourage everyone to contact me if you have an open date and are available to work. Rescheduled games, turn-backs and rainout make-ups come in all the time, and I will almost always be looking for help. Our new rainout line # has not been set up yet, but will be before the season starts. I will update this line at 10:00am, 12:00noon and 2:00pm. Make sure you check this line before heading out to your game. Schools are supposed to notify us by 1:30pm at the latest to cancel a game due to rain.

Please keep up to date and accurate game records. You will also be able to access this information on the website.
Thank you to everyone, in advance, for all your support this season. If you have questions or concerns, please let me know. Be a squeaky wheel. Make sure that I know you, and know your preferences. Make sure I know where you like to work, how far you’ll travel, what time you are off work and all the particulars. I will strive to do the best possible job, to cover all of the games, and to keep all of you happy. I look forward to working with all of you, and making this 2004 season a complete success.
