Greetings, the 2004 season is right around the corner. As you begin making your plans for the coming season, don't forget about the Third Annual Jim Evans Northwest Umpire Clinic, on March 5-7, 2004. This year's clinic is being built around an emphasis on more field and plate work, and getting each student the maximum number of repetitions during the drills.

Don't forget that there is still plenty of time to take advantage of the early registration discount. The cost of the clinic is $150, but only $125 for any registrations postmarked by January 17. Registration can be sent to: Evans NW Clinic, c/o Chris Thomas, 1020 S. 324 Pl., Federal Way, WA 98003.

We are also pleased to announce that for NBUA members, the time you spend at the Evans Northwest Umpire Clinic will count towards your training for the year. Each day spent at the clinic will count as a day of training as part of the NBUA training schedule. No matter what association you are from, umpires of all levels, abilities, and experience will benefit from the clinic. For umpires interested in obtaining more games at higher levels of baseball, this is the best training available to help you meet those goals.
