| Baseball Umpires Wanted for 2012 2012 NBUA Orientation Presentation Northwest Baseball Umpires Association (NBUA) is looking for new members and is currently taking applications for the 2012 season. No experience necessary . If you are 18 years or older, love baseball and are tired of sitting on the sidelines, join us! NBUA offers the most comprehensive training in the state of Washington. Our training staff consists of current and former professional umpires, umpires who have attended professional umpire school, as well as umpires who have learned through their experience umpiring all levels of baseball. We provide the best training out there so you feel comfortable the first time you walk out on the field and every time thereafter. Rules, mechanics, and situations are covered in our training programs. As an NBUA member, you are an independent contractor. We work with your schedule, not ours, in assigning games. You provide your availability to our assignor and we provide you with a program that works with your schedule. (Games are assigned when you have successfully completed all of the training requirements and are approved by our training staff. Equipment and uniform purchase is required). New Member Orientation Meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, at the Seattle Public Library near Northgate, starting at 6:30 PM, and Thursday, January 12, at the King County Library in Kent, starting at 7:00 PM. The orientation meetings last for around 45 minutes. Training starts Tuesday, January 24, at Mercer Island Community Center, with a second meeting on Thursday, January 26, and then runs Thursdays and Saturdays through the month of February.
