Baseball Umpires Wanted

Northwest Baseball Umpires Association (NBUA) is looking for new members and currently taking applications for the 2010 season.   No experience necessary .   If you are 16 years or older, love baseball and are tired of sitting on the sidelines, join us!

NBUA offers the most comprehensive training in the state of Washington.    Our training staff consists of current and former professional umpires, umpires who have attended professional umpire school, as well as umpires who have learned through their experience umpiring all levels of baseball. We provide the best training out there so you feel comfortable the first time you walk out on the field and every time thereafter.   Rules, mechanics, and situations are covered in our training programs.

As an NBUA member, you are an independent contractor. We work with your schedule, not ours, in assigning games. You provide your availability to our assignor and we provide you with a program that works with your schedule. (Games are assigned when you have successfully completed all of the training requirements and are approved by our training staff.   Equipment and uniform purchase is required).

As a new member of NBUA, you will receive:

  • 30+ hours of training (classroom, cage work, and field)
  • Mentorship program
  • Access to the best baseball in the Northwest
  • Excellent game fees
  • Support of over 150 local umpires

Training begins in February and new member orientation meetings have been scheduled for January 14th in Redmond (Lake Washington School District Resource Center) and January 20th in Renton (WIAA Office).  All orientation meetings will begin at 7PM. Please include your full name, address, contact phone number, preferred method of contact, and previous umpiring experience.
